EAST HOUSE INTERIOR

This is the only picture I could actually get from inside the school.  The place is just too unsafe for me to have got in.

This is just inside the main entrance door.  To the left is where we hung out coats, there is a lower dormitory through the open doorway, whilst to the left was the toilets I think.  To the right of here was the central corridor, which was flanked by more dorms' on the left and by the matrons room and laundry room on the right.  At the end of that corridor was the house master/mistresses apartment, where my grandmother, Mrs Flitton, lived for a year or two.  Turning left from there took us to the house rear entrance and main stairwell.  At the bottom of this was the infant school rooms, whilst at the top of the stairs were 5 large dormitories, the baths, the toilets and some smaller single rooms for the Head boy and other favoured pupils.

This is where we hung out little coats, when our mothers were far away...
